Life Without Mom.....Day 2

Well, we (all) made it through day two without mom and surprisingly enough we are all reasonably healthy. Owen made totally sure that none of us got food poisoning last night by cooking our chicken very "well done" *cough cough*. That aside we have actually been doing pretty good fending for ourselves. I actually stain-sticked my baseball pants (by myself) and got them clean! I also put my uniform in the dryer and dried it too (also by myself). In other news, I have a practice again today and I am not totally sure how I am getting there, because my dad is at work along with Barrett, and neither Owen or I have our licenses. We also do not have a car to drive, so even if we did have our licenses it would not do us much good. This is a problem which is generally not a problem because my mom is generally here to alleviate it. Thankfully Owen just informed me that my dad will be coming home from work early to get me to practice (thank you Lord). I think I now know why God gave us two parents :D.

Life Without Mom :(

This week my sister is out in California for a few days to attend a stamping conference/convention thing, so my mom and two littlest brothers Dewey and Daniel went to South Carolina for a few days to watch my two nephews and my niece. Which means that it is just Dad, Barrett, Owen, and I in the house for the next few days. We spent our first night without my mom and little brothers eating pizza, drinking homemade chocolate shakes, and watching The Bourne Identity (oh yeah we know how to party). Things were good...till we woke up. Some of you may know this already and some of you may not, but there are some serious draw backs to not having Mom around the house (surprise surprise). A couple of the drawbacks are: No one to help me through my math, no one to make a hot breakfast for my, no one to do my wash or fold my clothes, and no one to make me good hearty meals before practices. Needless to say I am really missing the presence of my mother around the house, but it is making me a lot more thankful for all she does for me on a regular basis. We are going to be without my mom till late Thursday so I will be posting throughout the week on how our attempt to survive without her is going :/.

Meet the Nugents

I was thinking today about the blog and I realized that not all of you know all of my family members (or at least know who everyone is). So, to remedy that I have put together a little slide show. This little slide show will introduce you to all the Nugents....yes all of them :).

A little introduction...

Since this blog is mostly going to be filled with all the things that go on in the "baseball side" of our lives I thought I would give you all a little insight into just how much baseball happens in our lives ;). So, here is the basic layout..... in Florida we are blessed with "reasonably" warm weather all year round so we are also blessed with the chance to play sports (in our case baseball) all year round. In our family baseball season starts in January and it ends in either very late November or early December (so the word "season" is kind of all-inclusive). As of yesterday I am officially on the Trinity Christian Academy high school baseball team and as of last Thursday Daniel's, Dewey's, and Owen's baseball season all started. So, we have all 4 of us boys playing at the same time. Which means that there are 4 DIFFERENT practice and game schedules (all of which my parents have to organize and plan for....let's give them a big hand shall we? *CLAPPING*). Now, since we have 4 different practice and game schedules all active at the same time that means that there are (at a VERY good average) maybe 3 days out of every month that are without a baseball game or practice. It is on those very rare days that baseball is absent in our lives that my parents take a little much deserved time for themselves...my parents are (if you haven't picked up on this already) two of the most selfless and wonderful people I know. So, now you have a rough idea of what we do all day :-D. More specific details are coming just as soon as something funny, crazy, hilarious, weird, or out of the ordinary happens.

What is this blog?

Ok, a little while ago when my 3 little brothers, my parents, and myself were driving home from one of our games my little brother Daniel was telling a story to my parents and by the end of it we were all laughing hysterically. After he was done telling the story my dad made the suggestion that we start writing some of these stories and experiences down so that we could remember them and look back on them in the future. Well, I decided after a little while that I would start doing just that. So, this blog is going to have stories from the lives of us crazy Nugents. For those of you who are totally anti-baseball there will be other posts on here that are not related to baseball. Anyway, I hope whoever ends up reading this blog will get a kick out of the stories we have to share, but I also want everything that is posted on this blog to honor and glorify God. So, now that you know what the blog is about I hope you will enjoy the posts that are coming in the very near future (baseball season has started).
